New director of Robeco pension fund

Robeco pension fund has a new managing director, Chris van der Oord. He is not entirely unknown to Robeco employees. Between 1999 and the end of 2019, he worked as a portfolio manager in the fixed income team and from 2011 as an adviser in the fiduciary team. Through this role, he became involved in the pension fund. This experience came in handy when he was again allowed to advise the pension fund on investment policy from Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Chris van der Oord introduces himself:
‘In my new role as chief executive, I look forward to working with all stakeholders. A cooperation that ultimately revolves around one thing: a good pension for all participants at an acceptable cost. With this in mind, the transition to the new pension system will of course be central in the coming period. This is new for everyone, with all the challenges that come with it. Good communication about how the new pension system will affect all participants will be very important. This can allay any concerns or uncertainties. Together with the board, I am happy to take up this challenge. And I look forward to doing my bit, together with Robeco colleagues and others involved.
I live in Oegstgeest, am married to Nelleke and have two grown-up children, who have found their own place with their partners for some time now. In my spare time, I volunteer for the local church. I enjoy reading, sports and, as best I can, playing the violin.’
