Transition to new pension scheme postponed

Geplaatst op 26 March 2025

Robeco Pension Fund has decided to postpone the transition to the new pension scheme for at least six months. Until now, the transition was scheduled for 1 January 2026. We will use the coming period to re-evaluate the situation and determine what a realistic and responsible moment of transition is.

The transition to the new pension system is an extensive process that the fund is preparing together with various external parties, such as actuaries, advisers and the pension administrator. Currently, these parties – like the entire pension sector – are under great pressure. In the next few years, more than 150 pension funds will have to switch over. This creates capacity issues, which also affect our planning.

What does this mean for you?
For you, nothing will change at the moment.

  • Are you still working? Then you will continue to accrue pension as usual.
  • Are you a former participant? Your accrued pension will be maintained.
  • Are you already receiving a pension? Then your benefits will continue as usual.

As usual, the fund will reassess in early 2026 whether there is room for indexation (increase of the pension). If so, this will be implemented – as in other years – as of 1 February 2026.

How next?
We will keep you updated on developments. As soon as more is known about the timing of the transition, we will inform you via our website and in our communications. We remain committed to a careful transition to the new pension system – with an eye on clarity and as much security as possible for all our members.
