Since November 2019, the pension fund has been signatory to UN PRI

PRI stands for “Principles for Responsible Investment”. As part of this, the fund commits to the following principles

  • We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
  • We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
  • We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
  • We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
  • We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
  • We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.

The fund expects the selected managers to be PRI signatories or to be able to demonstrate that they adhere to comparable principles in the field of socially responsible investment.

All PRI signatories are assessed annually. The aim of this assessment is to provide insight into how we can improve our sustainable investment practices and to offer a comparison with our peers. Robeco Pension Fund’s score in the PRI assessment is in line with the median scores of comparable funds. By 2025, a noticeable improvement in scores had been achieved across three of the four modules.

All managers of the pension fund are currently PRI signatories. Most of the asset managers in the portfolio achieve high (5/5) PRI scores, indicating an advanced level of ESG integration.
